Two schools in Delhi received bomb threats, children sent home

New Delhi, December 9 (IANS). Two big renowned schools of the national capital New Delhi, DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka of Paschim Vihar, have received bomb threats. This threat has been given through e-mail.

After this threat, the school administration has sent all the children home as a precautionary measure. After receiving information about the threat, Delhi Police and Fire Brigade officials immediately reached the spot.

In its statement, the police have confirmed that they have received bomb threats to DPS and GD Goenka School. Police said that it is being investigated. At present, no suspicious facts of any kind have come to light in the investigation.

Earlier on November 20, Venkateshwar Global School in Rohini had also received a bomb threat.

At the same time, a CRPF school in Tamil Nadu also received a bomb threat on 21 October.

On October 20, there was an explosion in the wall of the CRPF school located in Rohini area of ​​Delhi. Due to this, nearby shops and vehicles were damaged. A pro-Khalistani Telegram group had claimed responsibility for the blast. After this Delhi Police collected information about that telegram.

Recently many schools, airlines, hotels and stations have received bomb threats. However, in the end these incidents were proved to be false.

Speaking in the winter session of Parliament, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol had said that the number of false threats received by airlines has increased from 122 in 2023 to 994 in 2024, which shows an increase of 714.7 per cent. Airlines received 666 bomb threat calls in June. 122 such threats have been received in June. At the same time, 15 threat calls were recorded in September and October 2023.
