Udaipur : 11 KV power line suddenly fell on a young man riding a scooter in Badgaon police station area of Udaipur. The young man fell on the ground and died on the spot. The incident took place in Adinath UIT Colony located in Loyara village. Passersby informed the police and electricity department. After which the power supply was stopped. According to the police- 26 year old Rajendra Singh, resident of Rajsamand Hall, Kailash Nagar Loira, died in the accident. The young man worked as a salesman at a wine shop and was studying in college.
Accident due to negligence of electricity department
Sarpanch Madan Pandit said that the accident happened due to the negligence of the electricity department. A young man lost his life due to the wires not being maintained from time to time. Suddenly the wire breaking and falling shows the carelessness of the department. The electricity department should give compensation to the family of the deceased.
Wire can break due to bird sitting on insulator
AEN Jinesh Jain said – Many times such incidents happen due to birds sitting on insulators. However, why the wire broke is a matter of investigation for us also. When AEN was asked a question about the Sarpanch’s allegations, he said – We get the wires maintained on time. We are also deeply saddened by the loss of the young man’s life in this accident.
