The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of the Central Government has issued a notification on December 10, constituting the Environment Impact Assessment Authority at the state level. To assist the authority, 4 Expert Appraisal Committees (SIA) have been formed across the state. These committees will examine the EC of about 23 thousand mines in the state in the next three and a half months. These include files of about 10 thousand 600 mines of Udaipur zone. Let us tell you that after the Environment Investigation Committee was dissolved on October 12, the crisis of closure of mines in the state had deepened due to lack of EC. Principal Secretary to the Mines and Petroleum Department, T. Ravikant, had issued the order on November 28. If they do not do so, they will not be allowed to do any kind of mining work after March 31. Action will be taken to cancel non-compliant mining leases and quarry licenses.

Supreme Court has given deadline till March 2025, mines will be closed without inspection
The Supreme Court has given a deadline of March 2025 for the EC investigation. The mines which will not be re-inspected by EC will be closed from April 1. However, this possibility is less now.
