Udaipur: Confluence of folk culture ‘Shilpagram Utsav’ from 21st, Governor will inaugurate

Udaipur : Shilpgram Utsav located at Hawala near Udaipur city will be held from 21st December to 31st December. In which a unique confluence of folk culture and tradition of different states will be seen. State Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde will inaugurate the festival on 21st December. Entry will be free from 3 pm on the first day. Rhythm of India and Color of India program will be held on the first day itself. A symphony of about 50 instruments will be presented in Rhythm of India. At the same time, in Color of India, choreographed dance will be presented by about 200 artists from 14 states. This year the theme of the celebration has been kept with the colors of the people. ​About 800 artists from 65 folk art groups will perform in the 10 days of the festival.

The fair will have 400 craft stalls and four food zones.

There will be around 400 craft stalls in the fair. In which 800 craftsmen and artisans from 24 states will come to sell their products. Almost all the crafts from across the country will be displayed in it. At the same time, four food zones have been created to provide different types of dishes to the people. Which will have food items from 12 states. Apart from this, artisans will showcase their art live in the fair. This includes Salawas’s Dariya, Pattu Shawl, Kota Doriya, lac bangles, Kashmiri weaving and Molela’s clay craft etc.

Lifetime Achievement Award to two artists, will receive an award of Rs 2.51 lakh

Like every time, this time Dr. Komal Kothari Memorial Lifetime Achievement Folk Art Award will also be given. This award will be given to puppet and chitrakathi artist Ganpat Sakharam Masge, resident of Sindhudurg, Maharashtra and Bhavai artist Dr. Roop Singh Shekhawat of Jaipur. As an award, each will be given a silver plaque along with an amount of Rs 2.51 lakh. Apart from this, performances of Bahrupiya, Kutchi Ghodi, Kutchi folk singing, Rathwa, Sundari playing, Algoza playing, Gawari, Mashak playing, Manganiyar, Chakri and Kalbeliya etc. will be performed throughout the day in the fair.
