Udaipur Housing Board removed encroachment amid protests, police presence present

Udaipur : Udaipur Housing Board, Udaipur on Monday took action to remove the encroachment which was coming in the way of construction of 100 feet proposed behind Sector-9 VIP Colony. Due to encroachment, housing projects were stuck here for many years. Which will now be easier to develop. During the encroachment, the local people came out in protest and had an argument with the departmental officers. The department said that leases have been given to all the account holders coming between the proposed road as per the rules.

Housing Board teams with the help of Savina police station reached the spot with 3 to 4 JCBs and started encroachment action amid the protests. The fences, walls etc. built there were demolished by JCB. During this time, Tehsildar Ranjit Singh, Deputy Housing Commissioner Kaluram Madawariya and XEN Ajay Kumar etc. were present as Executive Magistrate.

Came to remove encroachment twice before, but was not successful

According to the information, a 100 feet road was proposed here in the year 2000. But the department’s plans were stuck due to encroachment by an account holder. There was a series of discussions going on regarding this issue. Notices had also been given. Even the department had gone to the spot twice before to take action to remove encroachment but the account holder sought time for this. Still the matter got postponed.

600 flats were allotted in the year 2013, could not be constructed due to encroachment

In this area, a lottery of 600 flats was opened by the Housing Board in the year 2013, but due to encroachment, the flats have not been constructed till date. Apart from this, the upcoming housing schemes of the department are proposed here, but with the clearing of the proposed 100 feed road, the way to materialize these schemes has become easier.
