Udaipur International Day for Disabled Today, swam with one hand and not one and brought medal in Nationals

Udaipur : Udaipur Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Despite being physically disabled, such people are establishing their fame in every field today. We have brought the story of some such players, who not only turned their physical weakness into strength, but also helped themselves and their city despite adverse circumstances and limited resources. Jamnalal, the swimming instructor at Maharana Pratap Khelgaon, does not have a right hand since birth, yet he himself does swimming. Seeing the courage of the disabled players, he was inspired to do something and went to play state for the first time in the year 2017. Then came back winning two silver medals. After this, he continued to do well in swimming and reached the national level. In the year 2022, he performed best in Para National swimming and won the bronze medal. From the year 2021, he started giving swimming training to the players in Khelgaon. So far he has won 7 gold, four silver and two bronze in the state.

Pranay Seth: Not one leg, many medals in badminton, preparation for Paralympics

20 year old Pranay Seth’s right leg did not grow since birth. Got artificial leg fitted. There was a desire to do something in sports and then chose badminton. In October itself, he represented India in the Japan Para Badminton International and came third in doubles. He also stood second in the Para Badminton Championship held in Egypt in January. In the journey of playing badminton which started 4 years ago, he has won many medals and trophies till now. Presently he is studying in third year BBA from University. Also practicing badminton from Jaipur. They are also busy preparing for their best performance in the Paralympics to be held in 2028.

Govind Kharol: Problem in hands, has measured many cities by bicycle

Govind Kharol’s right hand was not fully developed since birth. The left hand also has only three fingers. Despite difficulties, Govind started his bicycle journey at the age of 8. Today, at the age of 34, along with cycling thousands of kilometers, he has also made a name for himself in running. He has done a solo cycle journey of 1700 km from Udaipur to Bengaluru. Made an arduous journey of 550 km from Manali to Khardungla La in 2018. Recently did a 70 km trek to Panch Kailash at an altitude of 18500 feet, which is one of the most inaccessible treks. Govind is also running a foundation named Bindas.

Kapil Chaudhary: Even if it is not visible to the eyes, the goal is clearly visible in the race.

24 year old Kapil Chaudhary, resident of Dewali city, is a para athletic. They have poor eyesight since birth. They are unable to see by focusing on one place. Despite this, when we have to run, we overcome every obstacle and just run towards our goal. He has participated in International India Open Para Athletics Championship, Khelo India etc. He has won gold medal thrice along with national medal in 400 meter race. Kapil is preparing for Khelo India and 2026 Asian Games. He also inspires other people like him to take up sports.
