Udaipur Primary school running in a tarpaulin covered hut, children shivering in the cold

Udaipur : Udaipur Government is making big promises and running many schemes regarding education, but despite this, the condition of schools in many places is from bad to worse. Such is the situation in Government Primary School Khajuri Phala located in Pahara Panchayat of tribal dominated Dhariyavad block. Here, the then state government opened a primary school under the Chief Minister’s announcement two years ago, but till date land has not been provided. For two years, students have been forced to study in tarpaulin covered huts. At present, classes from first to fourth run here, in which 46 students are studying. They also have to face severe cold.

As soon as the MLA came to know, he took stock of the situation: On Wednesday, when Dhariyavad MLA Thawarchand Damor came to know through the villagers, he reached Pahara Panchayat. Where he saw the school running in a temporary hut. When information was taken, it came to light that there was neither a building nor a lease for the school. Presently the primary school is running temporarily in a tarpaulin covered hut near a keluposh house. Taking action on this, the MLA announced to get tin shed and interlocking done in seven days under the MLA head. He talked about distributing sweaters to the students who were shivering due to cold winds. Also discussed with District Education Officer and DFO of Forest Department regarding land and building for the school.

Assurance to get this work done: The MLA assured to get the rocky road of about 4 km from Pahada Main road gravelled. Discussed with the concerned authorities regarding getting the tower started soon. The school is going to be operational two years ago from October 2022, the process of transferring its land is going on. In this regard, letters have been sent to the Sub-Divisional Officer and Tehsil Office. Earlier a file was sent which could not proceed due to technical glitch.
