Udaipur: Robber bride who had done 6 marriages and 3 relatives arrested

Udaipur : Udaipur Salumber police station has arrested the robber bride along with her female companion and her maternal uncle. Police Station Officer Manish Khoiwal told that all the three accused used to spread the trap of fake marriage to extort and grab huge money. The accused bride Sakshi Thakor (22), resident of Nadiad Gujarat, conducted fake marriages in 6 families. In this, bride Sakshi’s maternal uncle Bharat Bhai Prajapati played an important role in building the relationship. He used to get her married. After marriage, these accused used to extort lakhs of rupees through fraud. Police have arrested the accused bride’s companion Mandaben (59), wife Praveen Chandra Vyas, resident of Ahmedabad and Gotamlal alias Maraj (57), father Swadolaji Damor resident of Salumber.

Demands Rs 2.50 lakh for relationship, bride disappears after marriage

The police station officer said that Parvat Singh son of Wal Singh Solanki had lodged a report in the police station on March 14, 2024. In which it was told that on May 15, 2023, Gotamlal’s father Dolaji Damor came to his house in New Basti Dal village. He told that if you don’t have a wife then I will get you married. It will cost a little. The applicant said yes to this. After about 15 months, Sakshi’s daughter Chandansingh Thakor, Mandaben’s wife Praveen Vyas and Bharat brother’s father Dhanji all three came to the house. He talked about marriage and asked to pay Rs 2.50 lakh for it. On this, the applicant Parvat Singh fixed the marriage for 5th June 2023 and got the marriage done in a temple in the village.

On behalf of the applicant, jewelery was given to the bride and Rs 2.50 lakh was given to Bharatbhai. After two months of marriage, wife Sakshi ran away from home with jewellery. After which she did not return despite calling several times. A complaint was lodged with the police regarding this. Here, a team was formed under the direction of SP Rajesh Yadav and the matter was investigated. In which she was exposed to be a robber bride. During interrogation, it was found that the robber bride has done 6 marriages till now and has embezzled around Rs 2 to 3 lakh from each. The police is still investigating the matter further.
