Udaipur : The case of the murder case of the city’s famous tailor Kanhaiyalal Teli has now reached the Supreme Court. Mohammad Javed, accused in the murder case that took place on Maldas Street on 28 June 2022, was granted bail by the High Court on 5 September 2024. Now Kanhaiya’s son Yash Teli has challenged this decision of the High Court in the Supreme Court.
While hearing the petition, the Supreme Court has issued notice to NIA and accused Mohammad Javed on November 11. Yash’s lawyer Vikramaditya Ujjwal said that our first victory is that the Supreme Court issued notice accepting the petition. We have demanded to reject the bail order of the High Court. Javed and main accused Mohammad Riyaz Attari were in touch. There was a conversation between the two even on the day of the murder. Javed had done Reiki of Kanhaiyalal.
This was a serious matter related to the Taliban massacre. There is a fear that the witnesses may be influenced by the accused getting bail. Yash Teli said that the High Court’s decision could have affected the case. So we have challenged it. We hope that we will get justice from the Supreme Court.
Two years passed, out of 116 witnesses only 5 could testify.
NIA conducted preliminary investigation and took the case to court. But in this case, out of 116 witnesses, only 5 have been able to testify. The testimony of 111 people is still pending. However, the seriousness of this massacre can be gauged from the fact that it had created a situation of tension in the entire country.
