Udaipur: Uproar, stone pelting, vandalism over entry into City Palace

Udaipur : Udaipur The situation of tension created due to the visit of former royal family member Vishwaraj Singh Mewar to the City Palace did not improve till night. Their side remained adamant on visiting the Dhuni site located at the Palace, whereas despite several attempts, no consent was expressed from the other side. Amidst the tussle between the two sides, the police-administration remained on the road till night. Vishwaraj Singh’s supporters kept standing in Jagdish Chowk till night and raising slogans. An atmosphere of tension remained for more than hours, but entry into the City Palace could not be achieved. Here, rumors related to the dispute and agreement between the two parties continued to go viral on social media throughout the day. Here, there was a ruckus late at night. Supporters of Vishvaraj Singh crossed the barricading late at night and started pelting stones.

Police force also deployed in Kailashpuri

Due to the arrival of Vishwaraj Singh Mewar at Eklingji temple in Kailashpuri, heavy police force was deployed here also. A notice was issued a day earlier by the Eklingji Trust, which runs the temple, in which it was mentioned that entry would be allowed only with the permission of the Trust and that too only for darshan.

The city and tourists faced problems

● The police-administration had closed all the roads connected to the City Palace since the evening, due to which the people commuting in the inner city had to face a lot of trouble.

● People kept reaching Palace Road through the inner city streets away from the main roads, but there was anger among the people due to stopping them from passing on the main roads.

● Vehicles of domestic and foreign tourists could not pass through the main roads of the inner city. In such a situation, tourists could not reach the tourist places related to the city. He had to go on foot.
