Under Karoli Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, compensation will be available on losses from sowing to harvesting.

Karauli : On behalf of the state government, the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme has been implemented in the state including the district till Rabi 2024-25. The scheme will be implemented on the basis of 33 eastern districts of the state. It has been notified to provide insurance for wheat, gram and mustard crops for Rabi crop in the district. Under the scheme, farmers taking crop loans, non-loanee farmers and tenant farmers will be able to get insurance and only the tenanted land of the district in which the tenant farmer resides will be considered valid.

Joint Director of Agriculture Department, Vishwambhar Dayal Sharma said that Reliance General Insurance Company has been authorized in the district to implement the scheme. The last date for getting crop insurance has been fixed as 31st December. To get insurance for a non-loanee farmer, he will have to submit digital Jamabandi, Aadhaar, bank passbook, while the necessary documents like affidavit from the sharecropper’s account holder, domicile certificate of the partner, Aadhar card of the sharecropper and the account holder etc. will have to be attached. Compensation will be given on the loss: Khadi Crop (sowing to harvest): Compensation for loss in standing crops due to drought, pests and diseases, natural calamities etc. will be given by the state government after harvest on the basis of yield data and on individual basis. Compensation for loss caused by natural calamity in crops left in the field to dry within a period of 14 days will be given on individual basis.
