Under the revenue recovery campaign of Pratapgarh Discom, the team checked the connections of 345 consumers.

Pratapgarh : Special revenue collection campaign is being run in Pratapgarh circle of Ajmer Discom. Special monitoring of this campaign is being done by Superintending Engineer Rajkumar Aggarwal. They are personally present in the field along with the officials and recovering the outstanding amount from the consumers. Due to non-payment of dues by consumers for a long time, their electricity connections are being disconnected. The Superintendent Engineer informed that during the campaign, Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers of all the subdivisions are active in the field along with their staff. The electricity supply of such outstanding consumers whose connections have been disconnected earlier is also being investigated. During this time, consumers are being advised and motivated to deposit their outstanding bills. Action is being taken to disconnect the connections of those consumers who are not paying despite repeated notifications.

Connections of 345 consumers were investigated.

Under the campaign, connections of 345 DC category consumers were checked in the circle on Friday and Saturday. These consumers had outstanding dues of around Rs 30 to 35 lakh. During this period, Rs 3.76 lakh was recovered, while instructions have been given to deposit the remaining amount in the coming days. The process of depositing the amount will also be ensured through agreements through the National Lok Adalat to be held in the month of December.

Government departments are also in default

Government departments are also included among the defaulters of the electricity department. Among the big defaulters, the main electricity dues are Rs 2 crore 45 lakh on Municipal Council Pratapgarh and Rs 1 crore 77 lakh on Municipality Chhoti Sadri. An appeal has been made to these departments to make the payment as soon as possible. In case of non-payment, their electricity connections will also be disconnected. Superintending Engineer Aggarwal has appealed to the consumers to deposit their electricity bills on time so that actions like disconnection can be avoided. He also informed that consumers can pay their bills through online mode sitting at home.

Take advantage of PM Suryaghar Yojana

Aggarwal motivated consumers to install solar plants under PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. In this scheme, a maximum subsidy of up to Rs 78,000 is being provided on installation of solar plant from the registered vendor of Discom, which reduces the cost of solar plant significantly.
