Jaipur : Jaipur The Mahakumbh, the great confluence of faith, will start from January 13, 2025 in Prayagraj. Crores of devotees from India and abroad will reach Sangam Nagri during the 45-day event. In such a situation, it is estimated that about 40 thousand tonnes of waste will be emitted due to plastic. For the first time, a unique campaign will be seen to make Kumbh plastic free and to protect the environment. For this, through the ‘One Thali, One Bag’ campaign, a large number of bags and plates will be sent from Jaipur to Prayagraj, which will be given to the pilgrims coming to Kumbh at the bus stand and railway station. With this, they should eat food in this plate and keep the ingredients in the bag. With this, Mahakumbh will be saved from the harm caused by plastic.
A special campaign has been launched for Mahakumbh 2025 with the aim of increasing awareness about environmental protection and cleanliness. On behalf of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, programs are being organized through Mandir Shakti Kendra in more than one lakh settlements of Jaipur province. Bags and plates will be collected from about one thousand centers in Jaipur with public cooperation. More than four lakh bags and plates will be sent from Jaipur. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Jaipur province’s environment activity head Ashok Sharma and Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s regional organization minister Rajaram said that the initiative will start soon in Jaipur for the society and national interest.

The environment loving management committee, parents and teachers of Sikar Road area have also come forward for this campaign. Before Mahakumbh, about one lakh plates and bags will be collected and sent to Prayagraj. Social worker Suraj Soni said that hundreds of plates and bags have been collected so far. Various social organizations and people are also being motivated for this. Alternatives to plastic and re-usable items are being promoted. Ashok Kumar, Ayush Sharma, Mahesh Swami, Pankaj Goyal and other environment lovers are also actively contributing. Vidyadhar Part coordinator Mahesh Swami said that under this campaign, one lakh bags and plates from Part Four will be sent to the Kumbh Mela.
