Sitapur, December 18 (Crimes Of India) – District Magistrate Dr. Rajaganapati R. made it clear in a meeting held at the collectorate auditorium on Thursday evening that clearing illegal encroachments from all the chak roads in the district is a top priority. This step aims to ensure farmers can reach their fields without any obstacles.
The DM explained that under the MNREGA scheme, work is underway for the construction, leveling, and repair of these chak roads. “After visiting the sub-divisional areas, a total of 5,687 chak roads have been identified across the district, of which 4,250 have been marked and measured,” he said.
According to the DM, 5,652 IDs have been created to carry out work on these routes. Progress is ongoing on 3,749 chak roads, and the remaining will be completed soon.
He added, “Following government orders, extensive action has been taken to remove encroachments from the chak roads. This will facilitate easier movement for farmers and help increase agricultural yield by improving access to fields.”
The DM also noted that repairing the chak roads will reduce land disputes and accelerate rural development. “MNREGA provides employment to workers and better pathways for farmers, benefiting both,” he concluded.
