Jaipur : The popularity of the heritage train “Valley Queen Express”, which showcases the country’s heritage, is continuously increasing. This train is attracting a lot of tourists. Because of this the number of passengers in the train is increasing. So far in the last two months of August and September, 646 passengers have traveled in this train. Railways also received revenue of Rs 5,27,114 from this. Online reservation is also available in this vehicle. With this, people can book tickets even in large numbers in groups.
Narendra Modi had started
Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, Captain Shashi Kiran said that the Railways has kept the Marwar-Khamli Ghat railway section of Aravalli in heritage order. The state’s first heritage train “Valley Queen” was run on this section between Marwar-Khamlighat. This train was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by flagging it off on 05 October 2023. The train runs 5 days a week between Marwar-Khamlighat.
Rajasthani look given to the train
To give a Rajasthani look to the heritage train, Rajasthani painting has been done on the coach. The train stops at Goram Ghat, Fulad and Khamlighat. It has a 60-seat AC chair car coach, one general coach and a twenty-seater window cabin. The diesel engine of the Valley Queen Heritage Train has been designed like a steam engine.
Train remains the basis of tourism
The 47 kilometer railway line from Marwar to Khamlighat amidst the Aravalli hills has become the basis of tourism in this area full of natural beauty. During the journey by this train, passengers get to see beautiful views of lush green valleys, hills, rare flora and local fauna. There are two tunnels of about 100 years old and the Goramghat bridge over water streams on this route. A TV screen with announcements has also been installed in the train coach. In which tourists are given information about the entire route and the valleys of Goramghat.
