Vegetable prices are skyrocketing in Rajasthan, kitchen budget is in jeopardy

Jaipur : Vegetables have been spoiled due to rain. The prices of parwal, gourd, ladyfinger, bitter gourd, green chilli, cucumber, ladyfinger and spinach are skyrocketing. Farmers say that the supply of vegetables has reduced due to rain. Due to this the prices have increased. There are chances of further increase in the prices of vegetables.

Vegetable prices increased in Bharatpur

Vegetable prices have also increased in Bharatpur. A person who used to buy 1 kg of vegetables is now managing with 500 grams and 250 grams only. The shopkeeper said that vegetable prices have increased due to rain. 60 percent of the crops were damaged due to rain. To cover the loss, vegetables that cost Rs 20 per kg are being sold at Rs 40 to 50 per kg.

Vegetables got spoiled due to rain

Due to monsoon rains, the yield has decreased a lot, due to which the supply of vegetables is not being met. Due to the increase in the price of vegetables, people’s kitchen budget has been affected. Whereas, about a week ago these vegetables were being sold at half the price.
