Verification of documents for citizenship of Sriganganagar Pakistani displaced people

Sri Ganganagar : Pakistani displaced people have been living in Anupgarh area for the last several years and are trying to get Indian citizenship. On Wednesday, a five-member committee formed under the chairmanship of Sri Ganganagar Post Office Superintendent Sitaram Khatri examined the online applications made by Pakistani citizens in the Municipal Council. The Government of India had made the Pakistani refugees apply online under the Citizenship Amendment Act to provide Indian citizenship to the Pakistani refugees.

He said that today the documents of a total of 16 Pakistani migrants were verified. Happiness is clearly visible on the faces of Pakistani refugees in the hope of getting Indian citizenship. Till now, a total of 170 Pakistani migrants from Anupgarh district have got Indian citizenship. Today, the documents are being examined in the Municipal Council by Post Office Superintendent Sitaram Khatri, Station Superintendent Rakesh Kumar, Office Assistant Harsh Arora and other officials. Pak refugees will get relief. Pak refugees will get a lot of relief if they get Indian citizenship.

Due to not having Indian citizenship, Pakistani refugees are not able to avail the benefits of various public welfare schemes of the state and central government. If Pakistani refugees get Indian citizenship, they will also be able to avail the benefits of various public welfare schemes of the government. Arjun Ram (50), son of Haruram, who lives in Sri Vijayanagar area, told that he came to India with 10 other members of his family in the year 2014. He told that before this he used to live in Pakistan and work as a laborer along with other members of his family. Expressing happiness, Arjun Ram said that he is very happy that he has come to his country and now he is going to get Indian citizenship. Due to which his family members will get a lot of benefit.
