Chaibasa, December 8 (IANS). Area commander of the banned organization People’s Liberation Federation of India (PLFI) Mota Tiger and one of his associates have been beaten to death by local villagers in Gudri block of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. The bodies of both of them are reported to be lying near Todel-Komay forest of Gudri police station area. The incident took place on Friday evening, but their bodies were not recovered till 11 o’clock on Sunday. Due to the anger of the villagers, the police have not yet reached the spot.
Chaibasa Range DIG Manoj Ratan Chothe has admitted that there is information that the PLFI commander who had come to commit some crime has been killed by the villagers. The police is investigating the matter
The villagers, suffering from the terror of Naxalites, have announced that those who spread fear by showing weapons will not be allowed to enter the villages. People of about 50 villages, armed with bows, arrows, spears, axes and other traditional weapons, are busy searching for the Naxalites of PLFI organization. In view of the tense situation, the police is exercising vigilance.
PLFI Naxalites had targeted many innocent people in villages in recent times. On November 24, Ravi Tanti and Sansa Topno were murdered with a sharp weapon in Giru village. Other members of the family had saved their lives by running away. The names of PLFI commander Mota Tiger and Gomia had come to light among those who carried out this incident.
Similarly, on the evening of 27th November, unknown criminals had beaten Naman Lomga, a youth of Serengada village, to death in Goilkera Bhardiha market. A person missing from Saruda village in Goilkera police station area for the last several days is also suspected to have been murdered by Naxalites. Angered by these incidents, people of about 30 villages united and held a meeting two days ago and decided to fight the Naxalites.
After this, people went out in groups in search of Naxalites with traditional weapons. PLFI commander Mota Tiger and his associates were holding a meeting in the Todel-Comay forest. The villagers surrounded him and beat him severely. According to the information, Mota Tiger and one of his companions have died. Many other Naxalites have been beaten. On receiving information about the incident, police from Sonuva, Anandpur, Goilkera and Gudri police stations are camping near the forest.
