New Delhi, December 8 (IANS). A demonstration was held in front of the United Nations (UN) office under the leadership of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Lajpat Nagar District President Karan Kapoor in Delhi on Sunday to protest against the attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh. A large number of VHP workers participated in this demonstration and raised their voice against the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh.
On this occasion, VHP members and leaders demanded the United Nations to ensure the safety of the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
While talking to IANS, Karan Kapoor told that we demonstrated peacefully and have submitted a written memorandum to the United Nations. Our main objective is to demand concrete steps from the UN to stop the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. We hope that the UN will take effective steps to ensure the safety of the Hindu community. If no concrete action is taken on our demands, we will hold bigger protests in future.
He said that this demonstration was not related to any political party, but it was a struggle for the rights of the Hindu community. Our fight is for the rights of Hindus and we are completely dedicated to this struggle. We have nothing to do with politics.
Meanwhile, Karan Kapoor reacted strongly to Jammu and Kashmir leader Iltija Mufti’s statement calling Hindutva a disease. He said that Hindutva is not a disease, Islam is a disease.
He further said that such ‘sick Muslims’ have no right to live here. Why are such people living here? If he has any problem, he can leave the country. Who has stopped them?
Let us tell you that the incidents of atrocities and attacks against the Hindu community are continuously increasing in Bangladesh. Followers of Hinduism in different parts of Bangladesh are facing continuous attacks on their homes, temples and religious places. Hindu religious places are also being victimized, incidents of breaking of idols and arson in temples have also been seen.
