Bharatpur : Railway Trade Union elections are being considered as the biggest trade union elections in the country, as it will be held on 4th, 5th and 6th November in all the 17 zones across the country. On the first day, on Wednesday, voting was held for 5 trade unions in the community hall outside the railway station. In this, regional and national level organizations are contesting the elections, whichever organization wins in 9 zones, it will get the status of national level union. This union will talk to the Railway Ministry and the Railway Board regarding the interests of the employees and other issues.
According to experts, the Railway Trade Union elections were held in 2013. This election is being held after 11 years, whereas the election should have been held in the year 2019. Had to approach the court to conduct elections and then elections are being held. Whoever wins the election will get recognition and will be able to talk to the ministry. This election will reveal which of the working trade unions is popular and who is getting how much vote share. For this reason voting is not happening in one day
11 lakh employees from across the country are expected to participate in this election. The reason why elections are not held in the country in one day is so that the running employees who went out by train can come back and vote. This election is being conducted through ballot paper and the result of this election will be declared by 12th December.
