Voting in two assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, preparations complete

Bhopal, November 12 (IANS). By-elections are being held in two assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh, Budhni and Vijaypur. Voting is going to take place here on Wednesday. The administration has completed preparations for voting.

Chief Electoral Officer Sukhveer Singh said that voting is to be held on November 13 for the by-elections in Vijaypur assembly constituency of Sheopur district and Budhni assembly constituency of Sehore district. All preparations for the by-elections in both the assembly constituencies have been completed. A total of 5 lakh 31 thousand 616 voters will exercise their franchise. The voting process will start from 7 am in the morning and will continue till 6 pm.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that 327 polling stations have been set up for the by-election in Vijaypur. 2 lakh 54 thousand 817 voters will take part in the voting process. There are 2 lakh 54 thousand 714 general voters, out of which male voters are 1 lakh 33 thousand 581. The number of women voters is 1 lakh 21 thousand 131. There are 103 service voters.

At the same time, 363 polling stations have been made in Budhni Assembly. There are 2 lakh 76 thousand 604 general voters, out of which male voters are 1 lakh 43 thousand 197. The number of women voters is 1 lakh 33 thousand 401. The number of service voters is 195.

Election duty of 2,760 officers and employees has been imposed to conduct the by-elections in both the assembly constituencies. To ensure smooth voting in both the assembly constituencies, around 1,500 armed forces, 1,500 district police forces and adequate number of home guards and special police officers (SPOs) have been deployed for security.

Present Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was elected from Budhni in the assembly elections held last year, who is now MP from Vidisha. At the same time, Ramnivas Rawat, former Congress MLA from Vijaypur, has joined BJP. Both of them resigned from the post of MLA, due to which by-elections are being held. In Budhni, BJP’s Ramakant Bhargava is contesting with Rajkumar Patel and in Vijaypur, Ramniwas Rawat is contesting against Congress’s Mukesh Malhotra.
