Jaipur : Rajasthan government is going to work on a big project to get rid of the water problem in the state. Under this project, there is a plan to put water from Madhya Pradesh’s Brahmani river into Bisalpur dam. Now the government will build a 143 km long canal from Brahmani river to Bisalpur dam to carry the water flowing from Madhya Pradesh to Bisalpur dam, which is the lifeline of many cities of the state including the capital Jaipur, Ajmer, Tonk. Due to which there will be no shortage of water in Bisalpur dam. The most important thing about this project is that an 18 km tunnel will be built in it and water will come with gravity. According to Water Supply Minister Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary, this is a project of about 7 thousand crores. However, the cost of this project may increase.
A 143 kilometer long tunnel will be built
Water Supply Minister Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary said that we are working towards bringing maximum water to Bisalpur Dam under this project. How much water of Rajasthan’s share has been used by building a dam in Madhya Pradesh. Since this matter is related to two states, we are working on this 143 km long scheme. The important thing is that due to the height of 74 meters between Rawatbhata and Banas river, water will come with very good gravity and soon the picture of the area will look changed with Bisalpur Dam.
What is Brahmani River to Banas River Project
Apart from ERCP, after filling the waste water of Chambal river near Rawatbhata in Rana Pratap Sagar and Jawahar Sagar dams, a 143 km long canal will be built to put the remaining water along with Rajasthan’s share in Bisalpur dam. During the tenure of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje from 2013 to 2018 in Rajasthan, a plan was made to bring water from Brahmani river to Bisalpur dam. But no work was done on it after 2018 till 2023. Now the Bhajan Lal government of the state is going to start work on this scheme again.
An 18 KM tunnel will also be constructed
In which a tunnel of 18 kilometers will also be constructed. Because the height of this 143 kilometer distance is 74 meters, in such a situation this water will be brought to Bisalpur dam by putting it in Banas river in Bhilwara from Brahmani river with good gravity. There is also a plan to build a new dam on Brahmani river for this.
