Water level of Kota Barrage increased due to rain in Rajasthan, 8 gates opened

This time there has been record breaking rainfall in Kota : Rajasthan. Flood-like conditions occurred in many districts and water came up in many rivers after years. Even amid the departure of monsoon, heavy rains were recorded in many areas of the state. Due to heavy rains in Chambal catchment area of ​​Kota, 8 gates of Kota Barrage Dam of Chambal Irrigation Project had to be opened and water had to be drained into Chambal river.

Gandhi Sagar Dam filled with rain in MP

Monsoon season has almost stopped in the state, but with the onset of monsoon it is raining in Madhya Pradesh. Due to which there was inflow of water in Gandhi Sagar Dam and it overflowed. After which water was drained by opening three gates of Gandhi Sagar, the largest dam built on Chambal river. Due to which water is also coming into Jawahar Sagar Rana Pratap Sagar. However, the good news is that sufficient amount of water has come in all the dams, due to which farmers will be able to get sufficient water for irrigation in the coming time.

Opened 8 gates and took out 70 thousand cusecs of water

Due to rain in Chambal catchment area, water started flowing into Kota Barrage also. After which about 70 thousand cusecs of water is being drained by opening 8 gates of the dam. Till now this year, a large amount of water had not been withdrawn from the Kota Barrage, because water had not been withdrawn from other dams including Gandhi Sagar built on the Chambal River. Due to which water did not enter Kota Barrage and water was not drained.
