Tonk : Water will be released from Bisalpur dam on Wednesday for irrigation in both the right and left canals. For this, the decision was taken in the meeting held in the Collectorate Auditorium on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Collector Dr. Soumya Jha. With this, 81 thousand 800 hectares of land in the district will be irrigated. But due to broken distributaries at many places, the water of the dam will flow in vain. Farmer leader Ratan Lal Chaudhary said that the canal is broken at many places including Barwas, Madhoganj.
The Collector instructed the Superintending Engineer of Bisalpur Dam to ensure that water reaches the tail on time through the main canals and distributary system. He said that strict action should be taken against the farmers who steal water by illegally installing engines in the canals during the operation of the canals.
Bisalpur Dam Superintending Engineer V.S. Sagar told that due to good rains this year, Bisalpur dam is completely full.
