Jhunjhunu : Jhunjhunu Even though Annapurna Rasoi started by the state government claims to provide nutritious food for eight rupees, its reality is different. On Tuesday, when we found out about the food and arrangements available in Annapurna kitchens operating in Jhunjhunu city, the picture that came to light was: She is astonishing. In these kitchens, only claims are made of providing quality food two times a day to the needy. The food here is watery pulses, vegetables and poor quality rice. On the boards of these kitchens, pulses, vegetables, rice/millets and khichdi are written in the menu, but they are not visible anywhere on the plate. In most of the Indira Rasoi operating in the city, the operators do not bring quality vegetables, rice, flour etc. Most bring vegetables of poor quality. When shopkeepers have leftover vegetables of better quality after selling them, they bring them at cheaper prices.
got better cleanliness
When we reached Annapurna Rasoi operating near the new private bus stand, the cleanliness was found to be better here. Two young men working here were sitting at the computer and taking photos. While inside the kitchen, a woman was cooking and a young man was cutting vegetables. When the two people eating here were asked how the food was, they told that it was fine.
There was no water to drink, leftover food was lying in the open
When we reached the kitchen operated in Dharamshala in the BDK hospital premises, more than a dozen people were eating food there. A young man was taking his photo. A girl was cooking rotis inside. But the water cooler installed here was lying dry. There was very little water coming from the tap above the sink for washing hands. When the young man was asked, he told that there was a water problem since three-four months. The motor of the well inside the BDK premises has been lying broken for several days. Had taken a connection to the warehouse built for medicine storage but they disconnected it. Water has to be arranged separately. Leftover food was kept in the open in the back part of the kitchen.
