Rajasthan : The spell of rain continues in Rajasthan. On Monday, the state got relief from heavy rain. The weather center has predicted moderate to heavy rain in many parts of eastern Rajasthan on Tuesday and heavy rain at some places in Kota, Udaipur division. On Monday, Baran in the state received the maximum rainfall of three inches. Weather Center Director Radheshyam Sharma said that the depression formed in the Bay of Bengal has intensified and turned into a deep depression. There is a strong possibility of it moving further in the north-west direction towards Orissa and Chhattisgarh in the next 24 hours. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of increase in heavy rain activities and very heavy rain at some places in Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur and Jaipur divisions of eastern Rajasthan on 11-12 September. In the next 4-5 days, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in some parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner division and the weather is likely to remain mainly dry in the border areas.
There was 61 percent more rain
The quota of rain in Rajasthan is becoming more than the average. Since June 1, the state has received more than 61 percent of the rain. Almost all the divisions of the state are receiving more than the average rain. Jodhpur division has received the most rain. Here, 115 percent more rain than the average has been received.
Sikar morning sun and evening rain
After bright sunshine and heat in the morning, clouds covered the sky in the afternoon and scattered rain occurred. 2 mm of rain was recorded in Sikar city. The weather became pleasant after the rain.
Rivers and streams overflow, roads remain closed
Life in Kota Hadauti region was affected by continuous rain on Monday. There was drizzle in Kota city at 6 am. After that, it remained cloudy. From 11 am onwards, dark clouds covered the sky and rain started which continued till 1.30 pm. After that, the weather cleared up again and the sun came out. 18.3 mm of rain was recorded in Kota in the last 24 hours.
2 gates of Chhapi dam opened
Due to good rainfall in the Chhapi Dam catchment area of Jhalawar district for the last two days, 4181 cusecs of water was drained out by opening two gates of the dam up to 1.5 metres at 1 pm on Monday.
