Rajasthan : this year the start of monsoon is proving to be dull. The entire state is waiting for good rains. June is over but except for a few districts, most of the districts have not received good rains yet. If compared to last year’s June, only 36 percent districts have received rainfall like last year while 64 percent districts are still waiting for rains. There are only 6 districts in the state where rainfall has been more than last year’s June while in 6 districts the situation is same as last year’s June. Whereas, in 21 districts the rainfall is not even half of what it received in June last year.
This time Kota is at the forefront
Kota is the only district in the state where 261 mm of rain has fallen, which is more than double the rainfall in June last year. This year the least rainfall has been recorded in Pali, whereas last year in June the highest rainfall of 428.60 mm was recorded in Pali. 16 districts of the state have received less rainfall than the average rainfall in June.
Rain alert in these districts today
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in Jaipur and Sikar districts today. During this period, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for rain with thunder and lightning in Jhunjhunu, Churu, Jaipur city and Dausa district today.
