Kolkata, 27 November (IANS). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal on Wednesday took out a protest rally against the arrest and jailing of ISKCON’s Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh. During this, BJP leaders and workers held posters of Chinmay Krishna Das and raised slogans for his release.
Leader of Opposition in West Bengal, Subhendu Adhikari took all the BJP MLAs from Rabindra Sadan to the office of the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata. After this, opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari handed over a delegation regarding the immediate release of Chinmoy Krishna Das and stopping the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, while talking to the media, BJP leader Subhendu Adhikari said in response to a question that a minister of the interim government of Bangladesh has used very disgusting words against India. One community is ruling Bangladesh. The governance is being run on the ideology of Jamaat. The government is not taking care of everyone.
While talking to IANS, BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul said that we have come before the Bangladesh High Commission on Wednesday. We are protesting against the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. This atrocities must stop.
Regarding the arrest of ISKCON’s Chinmoy Krishna Das, he said that he should be released soon. The continuous atrocities being committed against Hindu brothers and sisters should stop. Yesterday we saw that Hindus’ houses, offices and their businesses were all burnt.
Our temple has been damaged. Our God has been destroyed. We will not tolerate this. If anything happens to Chinmoy Krishna Das or our Hindus of Bangladesh then the Hindus of West Bengal will burn on fire. We will not sit silent. We will go to the border on Monday, our movement will take place there.
Apart from this, he accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of doing appeasement politics. He said that Hindus are being killed in Bangladesh, their houses are being burnt and the Chief Minister is silent.
Let us tell you that India on Tuesday has expressed ‘deep concern’ over the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Manch and head of Pundarik Dham in Chittagong, and subsequent denial of bail to him. Das was detained by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday. Das had been raising his voice against the atrocities on Hindus after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government.
Das was produced before Chittagong Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam on Tuesday amid tight security in connection with a case registered on October 31, local media reported. His bail plea was rejected and he was sent to jail.
