Tonk : A case of triple talaq has come to light in Tonk, known as the Nawabi city of Rajasthan. Here a case has come to light of divorcing a woman by saying talaq three times. That too after 21 years of marriage. However, for information, let us tell you that a law was implemented against triple talaq in the country 6 years ago on 19 September 2018. Under this law, saying triple talaq was made illegal. After the implementation of the law, a Muslim man cannot give triple talaq to his wife in one go. If this is done, the police can arrest the accused without a warrant. Surayya Khan, a resident of Gulzar Bagh in Tonk city, has filed a report in the police station, making serious allegations against her husband and in-laws. The woman has sought justice from the police and said that when triple talaq has been banned in the country, then strict action should be taken against those who go against the law. After the case was registered, the police station officer said that legal action will be taken in the matter.
Being harassed for years by calling me infertile
The victim has also accused her husband and his family members of harassing her including beating her. The police have registered a case and started investigation. Surayya, a resident of Tonk Gulzar Bagh area, has filed a case against her husband Kesar Mian alias Furqan Khan son Sadiq Khan (50) resident of Shashi Marg Gulzar Bagh Tonk in Kotwali Police Station under the Muslim Women (Protection of Marriage Rights) Act 2019. The victim Surayya Khan has written in her report that she was married to Kesar Mian alias Furqan son Sadiq Khan on 10 June 2003 according to Muslim customs.
Since marriage, her husband and other in-laws have been harassing her for years over small matters, calling her barren. Due to which she was mentally and physically depressed. The victim alleges that on the night of 16 September 2024, her husband Kesar Mian beat her over a small matter and said Talaq-Talaq Talaq three times that now she is no longer my wife. Also, he forcibly threw her out of the house. Kotwali Police Station Officer Bhanwar Lal Vaishnav said that in Kotwali police station, the victim Muslim woman has filed a complaint against her husband for beating and triple talaq. In this case, the police has registered a case and started investigation and the woman has been medically examined.
