Sikar : Sikar Call it irony or government negligence. Even after a year of the appointment of computer instructors in government schools, the syllabus of computer teaching from class one to eight has not been decided. In such a situation, despite having basic computer instructors, students up to class VIII are not getting the benefits of computer education. At the same time, these teachers are also being engaged in other non-educational works. According to the job chart of the Education Department, basic and senior computer instructors have to teach computers to the students of class one to 12 as per the syllabus.
For this they have to take 42 periods in a week. They have also been given the responsibility of managing the ICT lab, Shala Darpan or other online and technical work. When the syllabus for classes 9 to 12 was decided, their classes continued, but due to lack of syllabus, studies up to class 8 could not be conducted.
Rajasthan Staff Selection Board had conducted the recruitment examination for 9862 posts of Basic Computer Instructor in the Secondary Education Department in June 2022. The result was released in January 2023 and 5847 selected candidates were appointed in April 2023. But even after the entire session of 2023 was over, the lower classes could not get the benefit of their attendance due to the syllabus not being decided till class eight.
Computer teachers indignant
The non-implementation of the syllabus also affected the work of the computer teachers. The administration started using them for non-educational work as well. They were deputed for various camps and BLO type of work. This also created anger among the computer teachers. The demand of the computer teachers is that they should be made to work as per the job work. Non-educational work should not be made to be done.
Education department should prepare the syllabus soon
Today in the computer age, computer education should start from primary classes. The education department should prepare the syllabus up to class eight soon and start teaching computer subjects from this session itself. So that they can get its benefits. This will increase both the skills of the students and the usefulness of the computer instructors. Mahendra Pandey, Chief General Secretary, Rajasthan Primary and Secondary Teachers Association
