Ajmer : Rajasthan Public Service Commission has not been able to receive new Sub Inspector-Platoon Commander recruitment applications in three years. Lakhs of youth of the state are waiting for new recruitment. Recruitment 2021 papers are in controversies and headlines due to leaks and fraud. Due to this, the government, personnel and home departments including the police headquarters have not been able to take a decision regarding new recruitment. Rajasthan Public Service Commission, formed in 1949, conducts the recruitment examination of Sub Inspector-Platoon Commanders in the police. This trend has continued till the recruitment examination of 2021. Under this, the Commission had conducted the recruitment examination of 859 police officers.
No new recruitment since last three years
In 2021, out of 2100 posts of Sub Inspector in Police, 1200 posts were vacant. In lieu of this, the Personnel-Home Department had sent 859 SI-Platoon Commander recruitment commission. Earlier in 2016, applications for 511 sub-inspectors were sent. But in three years after 2021, the Commission has not received new recruitment of Sub Inspector and Platoon Commander from the Personnel and Home Department.
Sub Inspector posts vacant due to retirements and promotions
The posts of Sub Inspector are vacant due to retirements and promotions in the police. This is more than 1200. But the paper leak scandal of Deputy Inspector General recruitment 2021 and the issue of dummy candidates appearing in the examination are in controversies. In the last ten months, SOG has arrested more than 60 people including former Commission member Ramuram Raika and his son and daughter. Suspended member Babulal Katara was the mastermind of the paper leak, who has also been involved in the paper leak case of Senior Teacher Recruitment-2021.

There was a delay in the recruitment of year 2016
Rajasthan Public Service Commission had invited applications for the recruitment of Police Sub Inspector/Platoon Commander in the year 2016. This included 147 posts of Sub Inspector (AP), 65 posts of Sub Inspector (IB), 114 posts of Platoon Commander (RAC) and 4 posts of Sub Inspector MBC (total 330). The Commission conducted the examination on 7 October 2018 for 511 posts. After this, interviews were conducted from 8 July to 27 August 2020.
