Tonk : Tonk Collector Soumya Jha’s husband Akshay Godara is also an IAS, who is the District Collector of Bundi. Akshay Godara was transferred thrice in 18 days, due to which he remained in the news a lot. Akshay is a resident of Bhakhariwala village of Pali district. Akshay did B.Tech in Computer Science from Mumbai IIT. After this prepared for UPSC. He got success in the first attempt itself and secured 603rd rank. Became IPS. In the second attempt, he became IAS by securing 40th rank in 2017. He got Rajasthan cadre.
Akshay Godara Bundi District Collector
Akshay Godara started administrative service as Assistant Collector in Bharatpur. In 2019, worked as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi. Then he worked as Sub Divisional Officer in Ajmer, Mavli and Jhadol (Udaipur). He was also the Commissioner of Development Authority in Ajmer. Jaipur and Commercial Tax Department, Jaipur, has worked as Commissioner of Jaipur Heritage Corporation and Additional Commissioner (Vet and IT) in Commercial Tax Department. Presently Akshay is the collector of Bundi district. This is his first posting as District Collector.

IAS Akshay Godara was transferred thrice in 18 days. On May 15, 2023, Akshay Godara was appointed Commissioner of Jaipur Heritage Corporation from Ajmer Development Authority. After this, on 18 May 2023, he was made Additional Commissioner in the Commercial Tax Department. Then on June 2, 2023, he was transferred and made Joint Secretary in the Personnel Department. After this he made headlines.
Soumya came into limelight after the violence in Samravata
Tonk district collector Soumya Jha came into limelight after the slapping incident and violence in Samravata. Soumya is a resident of Madhya Pradesh. He secured 58th rank in UPSC in his first attempt in 2017. He got Himachal Pradesh cadre. She married Akshay Godara. After this he got Rajasthan cadre. Presently she is the DM of Tonk district of Rajasthan. Devli came into limelight after the violence in Samravata village of Uniara.

Both the IAS couples are posted in Rajasthan only. Soumya is a collector of Tonk. Akshay is posted as the collector of Bundi, the neighboring district of Tonk. Both of them have been posted as District Collector for the first time.
Had to take a memorandum against his wife
Amidst the Naresh Meena slapping scandal, Naresh Meena’s supporters demonstrated across Rajasthan demanding Meena’s release. In Bundi too, a large number of people demonstrated at the District Collectorate demanding the dismissal of SDM Amit Chaudhary and action against Tonk District Collector Saumya Jha. The discussion became heated when the protesters submitted a memorandum demanding action against Tonk Collector Saumya Jha to Bundi District Collector Akshay Godara. In other words, the husband had to take a memorandum against his wife.
