The ongoing speculations about victory and defeat since the voting took place on November 13 for the seven assembly by-elections in the state will finally come to an end on Saturday. On behalf of the Election Commission of India, the counting of votes for the eighty-fourth assembly will take place in the Shri Bhogilal Pandya Government College campus at the district headquarters. The mandate captured in EVMs will be counted in 18 rounds. The returning officer of Chaurasi assembly constituency said that counting of votes will take place in 18 rounds in room numbers 56 and 57. 14 tables have been installed for counting of votes. Counting of votes will start at 8 am. It is noteworthy that ten candidates have tried their luck in the election field.
Counting of votes will take place amidst tight security
The first level of security cordon will start from a radius of 100 meters around the counting complex, which has been demarcated as a pedestrian zone. No vehicle will be allowed within this perimeter. No person will be allowed to pass through the first level of security without authorization letter duly issued by ECI or photo I-card issued by the concerned DEO or RO. Whereas, the second and middle circle will be at the main gate of SBP College on Sagwara Road. Counting personnel and officers and employees appointed for counting duty will enter through this gate. At the same time, the entry of political candidates and counting agents at the counting venue will be from the gate of VKB Girls College.
Randomization completed
Under the Assembly by-election-2024, the second randomization of counting team personnel and micro observers took place on Friday in the office of the District Information and Science Officer in the presence of General Observer K Vivekanandan. During this time Sub Divisional Officer Dungarpur Mukeshchandra Meena was also present. The District Information and Science Officer gave information about the software system prepared by the Election Department. After this the process of second randomization was completed. Under this process, the personnel and micro observers appointed in the counting work formed two teams for ETPBS, PB for PB and 14 active teams for EVM for assembly constituency Chaurasi. Here, during the counting of votes, a public operation room has been set up and officers and personnel in charge have been appointed to make arrangements to keep the mobile phones and other material of the candidates, their agents, counting staff etc. safe during the counting of votes.

District Election Officer Ankit Kumar Singh said that a media center has been set up in room number 33 in the SBP College campus to inform the media persons at the counting site about the latest trends and results of the counting of votes. Here, arrangements have been made to display the Commission’s IT application Election Trends TV on a big LED screen. This will provide media persons with the latest trends and results of vote counting at one place. At the same time, the results of counting of votes will be informed to the general public through loudspeakers at SBP College, VKB College campus and Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Hall in Laxman Maidan. Media in-charge Rameshchandra Trivedi said that the appointed general observer K.
