Jaipur : Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra’s term is going to end soon. After which discussions have gained momentum in political circles regarding the name of the new governor. Kalraj Mishra took charge as the Governor of Rajasthan on 9 September 2019. His tenure is considered satisfactory. At present, the name of former General VK is leading as the next governor.
After Kalyan Singh, Governor Mishra took over the charge
Kalraj Mishra took over as the new Governor of the state after the completion of the tenure of former Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh. In the 1990s, the duo of Kalyan Singh and Kalraj Mishra remained in the headlines in Uttar Pradesh. When Kalyan Singh became the Chief Minister for the first time in June 1991, Kalraj Mishra was the President of the state BJP.
There was a lot of discussion about the name of VK Singh
VK Singh was the Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. He started his political career with the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. For the first time, he got the post of Minister of State for External Affairs in the Modi government. Then in 2019, he won the MP election from Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat. After which he was made the Minister of State for Road and Civil Aviation. Whereas this time he refused to contest the elections.
Political Career of Kalraj Mishra
When Kalyan Singh became the Chief Minister in 1997, Kalraj Mishra became the Minister of Public Works, Tourism, Medical Education in his cabinet. Both of them were at the forefront in the Ram Mandir movement in Uttar Pradesh and taking on the Samajwadi Party. Kalraj Mishra played an important role in building the BJP organization in Uttar Pradesh. He was the state president of BJP four times in 1991, 1993, 1995 and 2000. In 2014, he became an MP from Deoria Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh and was made the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the Narendra Modi cabinet. Mishra resigned from the ministerial post in 2017 after completing the age of 75 years. He was made in-charge of Haryana in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He was serving as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh since 16 July 2019.
