Karva Chauth fast date and auspicious time
According to the Panchang, this year the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month will start from 6.46 am on Sunday, October 20 and this date will remain till 4.16 am on October 21. In such a situation, according to Udaya Tithi, the fast of Karva Chauth will be observed on Sunday, October 20, 2024. The auspicious time for worship on the day of Karva Chauth will be from 5.46 pm to 7.02 pm on 20th October. It will be very auspicious to worship at this time.

Importance of earthen mound
Soil is considered pure in religious texts. In Hindu religion, earthen pots and utensils are used in worship activities. Apart from this, clay karva is considered a symbol of the five main things: soil, sky, water, air and fire. From which the person’s body is also constructed. Therefore, offering Argh with earthen Karwa during Karva Chauth is considered very auspicious. It is believed that these five elements are prayed for to keep the married life happy. It is like a karwa matka. On the auspicious occasion of Karva Chauth, married women consider Karva as the symbol of Mother Goddess and worship it.

How is it done?
In the making of Karva, clay is soaked in water and shaped. After this it is dried in air and sunlight. Then it is cooked in fire. In this way, Karve is made from five elements. Therefore, its use makes married life happy and prosperous.

How did it start?
The tradition of offering Argh through earthen pots in Karva Chauth is also mentioned in Treta and Dwapar era. According to mythological belief, when Mother Sita and Mother Draupadi observed the fast of Karva Chauth, they also used earthen pots.
