Why did Ravindra Singh Bhati write a letter to PM Modi’s minister? Know the whole matter

Barmer : Independent MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati from Shiv assembly seat of Barmer, a border district of the state, has written a letter to PM Modi’s Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav late on Monday evening. In this letter, Ravindra Singh Bhati has made a big demand from Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. He has demanded to build a museum in memory of the railway personnel who were martyred during the Indo-Pak war in 1965. History of Gadaror Railway Station explained

Shiv MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati has written a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and demanded, “Through this letter, I would like to inform you about the railway station located at the first end of India, which holds a special place in the glorious history of Indian Railways and its unique strategic location. Gadrarod Railway Station of Barmer district, where not only India but the only fair in global history is held which is organized in the memory of the martyrdom of railway employees.”

He further wrote, “During the Indo-Pak war of 1965, while our brave soldiers were fighting the enemies in the inaccessible desert, on one hand, the railway employees also made a big contribution in this war. On 09 September, 1965, when it was necessary to deliver war supplies to the soldiers, army personnel along with railway employees left for Gadra Road from Barmer with the supplies by train.”

17 railway personnel made the supreme sacrifice- Bhati

Ravindra Singh Bhati said, “As soon as the train reached the curve of Gadrarod, suddenly bombing and firing started from the sky. The Pakistani Air Force was continuously bombing, due to which the last coach of the train caught fire. Then the engine driver and other railway personnel displayed bravery and courage and separated that coach from the train and sent the train off. Being the last coach of the train, most of the people in it were railway employees, out of which 17 railway employees made the supreme sacrifice for the protection of the country.”

‘This is a 59 year old incident’

He said, “Although 59 years have passed since this incident, but the Indian Railways organizes only a Shaheed Mela at this martyrdom site. It is a unique example for the Indian Railways that 17 railway personnel sacrificed their lives in the national interest while facing the enemy on the tracks to protect the country.”
