Climate change has caused a decrease in temperature in the desert, creating a more favorable environment to live here. Due to which the availability of food and water for birds is increasing.

A journey of more than 10 thousand kilometres

As a result of this, the migratory bird European Roller was seen in the wildlife and bird-rich Lathi region. After a journey of more than 10 thousand kilometers from South-West Europe, this bird camped in the forest near Dholia village of Lathi region. They are going to stay in the southern part of Africa during the winter season. Bird lover Radheshyam Vishnoi saw these birds during bird watching near Dholia village on Monday.

He told that these birds migrate from Europe and Asia to the southern regions of Africa in winter. During this journey, they stop for food on the way. Scientists believe that they migrate by looking at the stars, the magnetic field of the earth, the position of the sun or by the map of the mind. Bird lover Radheshyam Vishnoi told that this migratory bird is also known as Kashmiri Neelkanth in Hindi. Its scientific name is Coracius Garrulus. Its breeding area is in some parts of Europe and Asia. Therefore, it is also called by this name.

Destination Africa, stopover in Jaisalmer

Wildlife photographer and wildlife lover Radheshyam Vishnoi said that this is an endangered species. Their numbers are decreasing due to hunting, use of pesticides and lack of forests. Vishnoi said that these migratory birds have been seen in Dholia and surrounding areas for the past few years. The migration of these birds will continue in Africa till November. They stay there till April-May and then return to their breeding areas.
