Jaipur : Former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has decided to take to the streets against Bhajan Lal government. Gehlot has announced a protest before Gandhi Jayanti. He made this announcement by posting on social media. Gehlot has raised the issue of ‘Gandhi Vatika’ in his post. What is Gandhi Vatika?
Gandhi Vatika is a museum. Which was inaugurated about a year ago. It has been built in the Central Park of Jaipur. The world class museum was built at a cost of about Rs 85 crore. This museum has not yet been opened to the general public. It was inaugurated on 23 September 2023 by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi.
Bhajan Lal government had cancelled Gandhi Vatika Trust
After this, the Gehlot government established the Gandhi Vatika Trust on October 3, 2023 to run the Gandhi Museum. Which was canceled by the Bhajanlal government. Former CM Ashok Gehlot said on his X handle that the BJP government has not yet opened the museum to the general public. I had personally and also requested CM Bhajanlal Sharma by writing a letter for this world-class museum. So that Gandhiji’s message of truth and non-violence reaches the public.

Will protest on 28 September
Gehlot further said that to protest against the government’s dogmatism, all Gandhians will sit on a dharna at the Gandhi Vatika Museum located at Gate No. 5 of Central Park on Saturday, September 28 from 11 am to 4 pm. The Gehlot government had announced this museum in the 2021-22 budget. Which was built by the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). This museum is made up of three floors. Artefacts related to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology, his life and education have been displayed on two of its floors.
Dedicated to Gandhiji and freedom
On one floor, the dark era of colonialism, the early days of the freedom struggle, the 1857 revolt and Gandhiji’s life in South Africa have been displayed. On the ground floor, there will be sections like Gandhiji’s return to India, his movement and his last days. Along with this, sections like Gandhiji’s Rajasthan visit and the Father of the Nation’s influence around the world will be displayed on the first floor. Overall, this entire museum will be dedicated to Gandhiji’s life and independence.
