Jaipur : Two-year-old Arjun Jangid, who lives in Dwarkapuri, Jaipur, was given an injection worth Rs 17.50 crore imported from the US on Saturday. Arjun was suffering from a rare disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), for which the main method of treatment is that the injection can be given only till the age of 24 months. This injection was the last hope to save Arjun’s life.
The employees of the education department set a great example
Arjun’s illness was detected when he was 22 months old and doctors advised to raise an immediate amount of Rs 17.50 crore. It was not possible for Arjun’s mother, Poonam Jangid, who works as a laboratory assistant in the education department, to raise such a huge amount. But the officials and employees of the education department set an example by coming forward to help Arjun.
This is how I deposited 17 crore rupees
Secondary Education Director Ashish Modi appealed to the department employees to contribute from their salaries, which received massive support. Philanthropists and teachers’ organizations also contributed, due to which an amount of 17.50 crores was quickly collected and injections were ordered from America.
As soon as the injection was given, tears of joy welled up in the eyes of the parents
September 14 proved to be a historic day for Arjun and his family. After the injection, Arjun’s parents were overjoyed and had tears in their eyes. Through this effort, not only did Arjun get a new life, but this incident has also become a symbol of cooperation and solidarity of the society.
