Jaipur : Bhajan Lal government in Rajasthan is going to change another decision of the previous Congress government. UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra has said that the government is now preparing to implement the ‘one city, one body’ model in the state. However, before this, all the urban bodies and wards of the state will be reorganized. Then after that, elections will be held next year by implementing the one city, one body model in Jaipur, Kota and Jodhpur.

There will be no municipal elections this year

Actually, Bhajan Lal government in Rajasthan is not going to conduct civic elections this year. This has been revealed by Bhajan Lal government’s UDH minister Jhabar Singh Kharra. The minister disclosed that the state government is preparing to implement the One State, One Election as well as the One City, One Body model. For this reason, civic elections will not be held in the state this year. Urban Development and Housing Department Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra said during this time that civic elections will be held in the state along with the Panchayat elections next year. Now if the Bhajan Lal government of Rajasthan implements the One City, One Body model in the state, then again there will be only one body each in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota. Let us tell you, the previous Ashok Gehlot government had formed two municipal corporations in all these three districts.

There will be early elections in 91 bodies

Let us tell you that if civic elections are not held in Rajasthan this year, then elections will be held before time in 91 bodies, whose tenure was till 2026. At the same time, elections will be held on time in 56 bodies including Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota. Apart from these, elections will not be held this year in Bharatpur, Bikaner, Pali, Alwar and Udaipur Municipal Corporations, 16 Municipal Councils and 28 Municipalities. It is worth noting that the tenure of all these bodies is ending in November. The tenure of the bodies whose board tenure is ending in November can be extended by handing over their responsibility to the administration. At the same time, the discussion of ‘One State One Election’ has also started gaining momentum again in the state due to this statement of the minister.

There will be no elections in these municipal bodies

It is known that the tenure of many municipal bodies of Rajasthan is ending in the month of November. In such a situation, under the new formula, elections of these bodies will be held in 2025. There will be no elections in five municipal corporations including Bharatpur, Bikaner, Udaipur and Pali, Alwar. Apart from this, there will be no elections this year in Beawar, Bhiwadi, Banswara, Barmer, Balotra, Chittorgarh, Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Jhunjhunu, Makrana, Sikar, Sirohi and Tonk District Council.
