Will Dotasara’s ‘Gamchha Dance’ become a big challenge for BJP? Will Congress be able to change the political picture in Rajasthan?

Dausa : The date was 12 July 2020, when the then Deputy CM Sachin Pilot announced that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s government would be reduced to minority. Started giving indications of toppling the government. He went to a resort in Manesar with 19 close MLAs. There was a crisis in the government and there was panic in the organization also. Pilot was the state president of Congress at that time, after the rebellion he was removed from the post. As the new president, the then Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara was appointed the head of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee on 14 July 2020. It was said internally that by making his close associate the head, Gehlot would dominate both the organization and the government. However, in no time Dotasara proved the experts wrong.

Now once again he faces a challenge. The question is also whether the way Congress performed brilliantly during the Lok Sabha elections, will it happen again? There is also discussion about Dotasara’s ‘Gamchha Dance’, which he is doing extensively in the meetings during the election campaign. Actually, in the by-elections being held on 7 seats, Salumber seat is the only one which was in BJP’s account. Whereas apart from Khinvsar (RLP) and Chaurasi (BAP), Congress faces the challenge of saving seats in Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara and Rajgarh. Obviously, there is nothing to lose for BJP in this election, which state president Madan Rathore himself has said. On the other hand, if Congress achieves a big victory, it will definitely affect Dotasara’s stature.

Dance politics came in handy in the Lok Sabha elections!
Congress had not opened its account in the Lok Sabha for the last 10 years, but this time the party’s performance was unexpected. Hardly political analysts were expecting this. Out of total 25 seats, BJP won on 14 seats and Congress and allies won on 11 seats. In which Congress got 8 seats and allies got 3 seats. Candidates of Congress allies, RLP’s Hanuman Beniwal from Nagaur, BAP’s Rajkumar Roat from Banswara and CPI(M)’s Comrade Amra Ram from Sikar won with Congress support.

Barring the year 2009, Congress had the best performance in the Lok Sabha elections in the last 20 years. Earlier in the year 2009, Congress had got 20 seats. Whereas only 4 votes went to BJP and 1 independent. But in the year 2004, BJP got 21 seats and Congress got 4 seats.

Satish Poonia said that Dotasara was called an item boy.
Former state president Satish Poonia said that now former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is left as a convenor of the party in Rajasthan. On the other hand, Rajasthan Congress State President Govind Singh said on Dotasara, “He is just entertaining himself by waving the towel.” Dotasara ji is now playing the role of item boy. Their twirling and dancing is not going to make any difference.

The rhetoric on PCC Chief’s dance is also no less.
BJP State President Madan Rathod has also quipped that what has touched Dotasara’s mind, he is dancing on the stage by twirling his towel, this is not a good thing. He is the state president of a national party, a state president has his own dignity. Whereas Rashtriya Loktantrik Party’s national convenor and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal, without naming him, had targeted Dotasara that the leader who dances with his towel on the song ‘Khali Tejal Super Duper’ can anyone help you. What will happen if you dance with a towel in your hand? The battle has to be fought.
