Jaipur : Municipal Corporation Heritage Mayor Munesh Gurjar on Tuesday handed over the reply to the notice to the Deputy Director (Regional) of the Local Bodies Department. The Mayor herself did not come, but sent this reply through the lawyer. Munesh Gurjar said that this action is full of political malice and the complaint has also been made on this basis. He has no role in any case of corruption. The Deputy Director will examine the reply and officially submit his report to the Director, Local Bodies Department. Probably the report will be sent on Wednesday and on that basis orders will be issued regarding the suspension of the Mayor. On the other hand, the Deputy Director has received the report from the ACB and the Corporation Commissioner. He had asked that if there are any new facts in this case, then send them so that they can be included in the investigation. It is worth noting that the department had issued a notice on September 11 and sought a reply in three days. The Mayor submitted the reply on Tuesday under three working days. Meanwhile, he cited four days as a public holiday.

The contenders for the post of acting mayor from the BJP were busy meeting ministers and officials of the party office throughout the day. Some described themselves as strong in terms of society while others claimed to have demonstrated their work.

Three councillors from Kishanpole assembly constituency are contenders for the post of acting mayor. The government can appoint any one of Kusum Yadav, Kapila Kumawat and Lalita Jaiswal as the acting mayor. In fact, Congress has been winning here in the last two assembly elections. In such a situation, by appointing an acting mayor from Kishanpole, BJP will once again try to instill enthusiasm in the workers.

It is believed that the government can take a decision in the mayor case on Wednesday. Urban Development Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra will also come to Jaipur in the afternoon and after that he will hold a meeting in the matter related to the mayor. After that the government will also suspend the mayor and announce the acting mayor. It is noteworthy that the Manak Chowk ACP is investigating the case registered against Mayor Munesh Gurjar and others in June 2023 at Manak Chowk police station. It is said that the statements of some people are yet to be recorded in the case.
