Jaipur : Municipal elections in Rajasthan may be held next year, but political turmoil has started here even before that. The previous Ashok Gehlot government of the state had formed two municipal corporations each in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota. In some of these places, Congress also became mayor. BJP had occupied the mayor’s chair in Jaipur for a long time, but in the last election, both BJP and Congress became mayors. Therefore, a political atmosphere was created here. Now BJP wants to merge these corporations here.
UDH minister gave these indications
The reason for this is that many BJP MLAs are in favour of merging the corporations. Therefore, from time to time they have also put forward their demand. Now UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra has said that one municipal corporation will be formed in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota. At present, there are two municipal corporations here.
Strategy to break into BJP’s stronghold
The previous Congress-led Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan had played a master stroke on the political chessboard by forming two municipal corporations each in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota. These seats were occupied by the Bharatiya Janata Party for a long time. Congress had made a special strategy to break into the BJP’s stronghold, which was strongly opposed by the BJP, which was in the opposition at that time. However, the Gehlot government had contested the elections by forming two municipal corporations each at that time. Now preparations are underway to overturn that rule.
This is the plan of Rajasthan government
Actually, the Rajasthan government is working on the plan of ‘one state one election’. BJP wants to make this change in the body before the elections. Vinod Pathak, a senior journalist from Rajasthan, says that the Congress had tried this trick to win the elections in Jaipur.
Congress got the benefit of forming a corporation
According to senior journalist Vinod Pathak, Congress also benefited from this strategy and won the election. Now BJP is preparing to remove it. He said that if the equation is seen, then BJP wants to contest the election by taking one corporation at a time. Vinod Pathak told that Rajasthan government is also working fast on the expansion of the limits of urban bodies, which will be seen in the form of many changes in the coming days.
