Jaipur : The outbreak of seasonal diseases is continuously increasing in Rajasthan. The government is on full alert mode regarding this. The state government has given instructions to all the officials regarding the prevention of these seasonal diseases which are increasing due to the changing weather. After this, DLB Director Kumar Pal Gautam has ordered all the urban bodies to take necessary steps to prevent seasonal diseases.
‘Spray pesticides in drains and public toilets’
Kumar Pal Gautam said that the garbage/debris collected in urban body areas should be removed immediately. According to the guidelines of the Government of India, drainage of water collected in the drains and other places of the city should be ensured. Also, black oil along with insecticides and mosquito repellents should be sprayed in the collected water and drains.
‘Malaria-dengue is a notifiable disease’
Further giving instructions, Kumar Pal Gautam said that ‘Rajasthan Epidemic Disease Act-1957’ is applicable in the state. Under which malaria and dengue have been declared notifiable diseases. In such a situation, the general public should not allow any kind of mosquito-borne sources to develop in their houses/vacant plots. If the general public does not cooperate under the rules, then they should be given notice and action should be taken to issue challan/fine as per rules. Also, drinking water tanks and other water sources for animals should be cleaned weekly.
‘It should be decided to do ward wise fogging’
He said that fogging should be done by making ward wise action plan with the fogging machines available with the urban bodies. The urban bodies which do not have fogging machines should ensure immediate fogging by hiring fogging machines from their own sources or by purchasing them as per rules.
‘Along with the administration, awareness of the general public is also necessary’
Pal Gautam further said that I.E.C. Efforts should be made to prevent seasonal diseases and reduce its effects by making the general public aware through the activities. Also establish communication with the Municipal Corporation employees, medical and health department team. After this, anti-mosquito activities like source reduction, antilarval, antiadult etc. should be carried out. Apart from this, after conducting a review at the District Collector level, a special action plan should be prepared and work should be done for the most sensitive areas.
