Jodhpur : This year’s first case of Congo fever has been reported in Jodhpur city. The victim woman has died in Ahmedabad. The deceased woman was a resident of Nandada Kala village near Jodhpur. The woman was admitted to a private hospital on September 30 due to ill health. Four days ago the family took him to Ahmedabad. The sample from Ahmedabad itself was sent to Pune Lab, where Congo fever was confirmed. It is noteworthy that in the year 2019, two patients had died due to Congo fever in Jodhpur city. The health department has become alert after the matter came to light.
What is Congo Fever?
Let us tell you that Congo fever is a viral disease. Actually, this disease is spread by a parasite called Hemoral, which is found on the skin of animals reared at home. Therefore, people who come in contact with cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep etc. become vulnerable to it. Especially this virus is found in Western and Eastern Africa. It was first confirmed in the country of Crimea in 1944, then in 1969 the first patient of this disease appeared in Congo. Congo fever is a fatal disease, because in 30 to 80 percent of cases of this type of infection, the patient dies. When infected with this virus, the patient gets high fever. Along with this, there is burning sensation in the eyes, fear of light, dizziness and severe pain in the muscles. Apart from this, the patient also faces problems like back pain, vomiting and hoarseness. During infection, platelets start decreasing rapidly in the blood.
