Work on housing schemes including 600 flats halted due to stay from Udaipur court

Udaipur : Despite removal of encroachment by Udaipur Housing Board in Paneri Ki Madri a week ago, the path of constructing the proposed 100 feet road again became difficult. Due to this, work on residential schemes has also stopped. Actually, the encroachment done by one account holder from here was completely demolished by the department but the other account holder got a stay from the High Court against this action of the department. In such a situation, along with the construction of the road, the proposed housing schemes are also stuck there.

Deputy Housing Commissioner Kaluram said that leases have been given to account holders as per rules. But, some account holders do not agree with this. He had filed court stays earlier also but they were rejected. In such a situation, relief is expected from the court soon. After which the road will soon be prepared and housing schemes will be developed.

Plan of 600 flats and about 80 houses pending for 10 years

Due to encroachment in Paneri’s Madri, the department is not able to give concrete shape to its plans. In the year 2013, a lottery for 600 flats was held here. Apart from this, about 80 houses are to be built but this work is stuck due to encroachment. People who were allotted flats and houses are repeatedly making rounds of the department waiting. Earlier, the Housing Board had consulted the account holders several times and also issued notices. Even tried to remove the encroachment thrice but the people themselves asked for time to remove it. Despite this the problem remains the same.
