Nalanda, December 12 (IANS). Bihar Sharif Railway Station in Nalanda district of Bihar is now being equipped with modern facilities under ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’. This scheme aims to provide better facilities and modern environment to the passengers of Indian Railways. In this plan, emphasis is being laid on sustainable and long-term development of the station.
Engineer Shadab, civil expert of Indian Railways, said that Bihar Sharif station comes under Danapur division and has been placed in a category with Bakhtiyarpur and Fatuha stations. A total budget of Rs 6 crore has been approved for this category, which can be increased as per the need. According to Shadab, the ongoing development works at the station include parking arrangements, construction of new buildings, provision of escalators and lifts, construction of foot overbridges, development of toilets and drainage systems.
He said that approximately 30 percent of the work of parking system at Bihar Sharif station has been completed. New buildings are being constructed for ticket counters and other facilities. The construction work of foot overbridge has started. Escalators and lifts will be installed for easy access of passengers to the platform. Apart from this, the construction work of toilets has been completed up to 90 percent and the work of drainage system is in the final stages.
Let us tell you, under the Amrit Bharat Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cleanliness, free Wi-Fi, special arrangements for disabled people, kiosks of local products and environment-friendly solutions will be implemented at the station. The target is to complete these ongoing development works at Bihar Sharif station by June 2025, so that passengers can get a new and better travel experience.
Amar told that Bihar Sharif station has been selected under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Under this scheme, many types of facilities will be provided to the common people. People like us will especially benefit from this, because under this scheme, facilities like better seating arrangements, places connected to business centers, cleanliness and safe tracks will be ensured.
Amar further said that Bihar Sharif is the largest city of Nalanda district and most of the business activities take place from here, the improvement of this station will provide immense relief to the passengers commuting here. Therefore, we common people thank PM Modi that he has improved our facilities through this scheme.
Another local person said that first of all we thank the Central Government very much, which has decided to improve and develop the infrastructure of Bihar Sharif Railway Station in this way. The plan that has been made for provision of toilets, cleanliness, accommodation facilities for senior citizens, arrangements for the comfort of passengers during movement of trains, facilities for women and all other passengers is very important for all of us. It is a great gift. The development of this infrastructure will give a new identity to Bihar Sharif Railway Station and provide a better experience to the passengers. We express our gratitude to the Central Government for this initiative.
