‘World Public Scientific Literacy Promotion Conference’

Beijing, 6 December (IANS). The ‘World Public Scientific Literacy Promotion Conference – 2024’, organized by the China Association for Science and Technology, opened in Beijing on Thursday, bringing together more than 400 guests from 23 countries and 10 international organizations to discuss ways in which improving public scientific literacy can empower global sustainable development. Chatted about.

As per the introduction, the conference will run for two days and include keynote reports, special forums and special events like ‘Science Popularization Talks’.

During the conference, guests will learn about technological innovations in cutting-edge science popularization services, collaboration between multiple entities to promote improvement in public scientific literacy, and application of new technologies to empower scientific literacy building such as current global scientific literacy building and science. There will be in-depth discussions and exchanges focusing on selected topics in popularization work.

Ana Cristina Amoroso Dasneves, Vice-President of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology Promotion and Development, said in her opening speech at the conference that we must further improve scientific literacy to stimulate the creativity of the next generation of scientists and innovators.
