Yashasvi Jaiswal’s century, India’s lead 321 runs, score till lunch – 275-1

Perth, 24 November (IANS). In the first Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the Indian team made a brilliant comeback and scored 275 runs after losing 1 wicket till lunch on the third day and their total lead has increased to 321 runs. India’s first innings was all out for 150 runs. After which Team India had bowled out host Australia for just 104. After this, India is moving towards a big score and a big lead due to the excellent century of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second innings.

The only blow to India on the morning of the third day was in the form of KL Rahul who scored an inning of 77 runs in 176 balls. Rahul was caught out by Mitchell Starc at the hands of Alex Carey. Rahul hit 5 fours in his restrained innings.

Meanwhile, young left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the fourth century of his career. Till lunch break, Jaiswal is unbeaten after playing an inning of 141 runs in 264 balls. He hit 12 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. Along with him, Devdutt Padikkal is also at the crease after scoring 25 runs.

Earlier, India, under the leadership of Jasprit Bumrah, had given a brilliant performance and bowled out Australia for just 104 runs. Captain Bumrah also led the bowling efficiently and took 5 wickets for 30 runs. Harshit Rana got 3 wickets and Mohammad Siraj also got 2 wickets.

This is the first test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. This time this series is being held of five test matches. The Indian team is coming with the backdrop of a 0-3 defeat against New Zealand at home. In such a situation, to make it to the World Test Championship final, they will not only have to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy series but will also have to keep the victory margin big.
