Jaisalmer : Snowfall and cold winds in North India have increased the cold in the desert district Jaisalmer. Sunday night was the coldest night of this season. Monday has been the coldest day of this season. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of cold wave in the district from Wednesday. Due to which the effect of winter will become even more intense. Agricultural meteorologist Atul Galav said that the effect of cold winds is likely to intensify further in the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for cold wave in Jaisalmer district on 11, 12 and 13 December. Due to which the temperature is likely to drop by 3 to 4 degrees.
Severe cold in rural areas
The effect of cold was intense in Nachana, Mohangarh and Ramgarh canal areas of the district. Bone-chilling cold was felt in the canal areas. People are seen warming themselves by bonfires to escape the cold. People have started wearing woolen clothes. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the effect of winter will intensify further from Tuesday. Agricultural meteorologist Atul Galav said that the effect of cold winds is likely to intensify further in the state.
Yellow alert of cold wave for three days
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for cold wave in Jaisalmer district on 11, 12 and 13 December. Due to which the temperature is likely to drop by 3 to 4 degrees. The effects of harsh winter will begin in the coming days. Since the beginning of December till now the minimum temperature has remained below 16 degrees. The minimum temperature suddenly dropped by 2 degrees on Sunday night. Due to which the night temperature reached single digit. The mercury on Sunday night was recorded at 8.2 degrees. On Monday, the day’s mercury suddenly dropped by 3 degrees. As the effect of winter increases, the weather has become favorable for Rabi crops. However, due to the storm on Sunday, cumin and isabgol crops were damaged in many areas. Farmers say that this season there will be good growth in the crop. The weather is also beneficial for Rabi crops.
